Ancient clam gardens were being built and tended to by our First Nations all along the West Coast from at least 3500 years ago onwards! Environmental Science students at Westshore took some time to simulate how boulder walls, built over many generations, allowed for development of ideal invertebrate growing conditions. Efforts are currently underway all along the West Coast to restore these amazing aquaculture features!
